Wreaths, Reimagined: A Seasonal Floral Story

Wreaths at The Petal Thing are more than seasonal décor. They are quiet, intentional pieces - designed to welcome, ground, and reflect the rhythm of nature.

What began as a winter offering is now expanding into spring, summer, and fall wreaths, inspired by Japanese simplicity and Nordic design.

Each seasonal wreath reflects its moment:
spring feels light and fresh,
summer leans into natural textures and warmth,
fall brings depth, softness, and grounded tones.

My approach to wreaths mirrors how I design flowers overall - intentional, balanced, and guided by feeling rather than excess. Japanese floral philosophy values negative space, natural movement, and imperfection. Nordic design brings softness, texture, and a connection to nature.

Together, they create wreaths that feel calm, modern, and quietly expressive.

Each wreath is designed to feel timeless rather than seasonal in the obvious sense - something that lives with you, rather than decorates for a moment.

Each seasonal wreath is created using natural and preserved materials, chosen for longevity and visual balance. Designs evolve based on what feels most true to the season. Our wreaths are designed using a thoughtful mix of fresh and dried elements. Fresh materials bring movement, softness, and life at the beginning, while dried and preserved botanicals provide structure and longevity. As the fresh elements naturally dry, the wreath settles into itself. Colors soften, textures deepen, and the design becomes quieter and more grounded - much like the changing season it represents. This transition is intentional and part of the beauty of the piece. Rather than fading, the wreath evolves. What begins as something fresh slowly becomes something lasting, allowing the design to live with you over time.

No two wreaths are exactly the same - and that’s intentional.

Expanding wreaths beyond winter felt like a natural step. Just like flowers, wreaths tell stories - of seasons, transitions, and the spaces we call home. This collection allows me to explore that storytelling in a slower, more lasting form.

Whether displayed on a door or styled indoors, these wreaths are meant to be lived with, not just looked at.
